Helena joined the team in 2014, when processes within the TTO were largely set up and CTBT had already gained awareness among researchers. More experienced colleagues who were present at the birth of CTBT helped her integrate into the running office and passed on valuable experience.

Her background in general medicine has enabled her to specialize in life-science technologies, to go into greater depth and to become a valuable partner for researchers. As many research projects require clinical testing, she works in close cooperation with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of UH HK and the Czech regulatory authority (State Institute for Drug Control – SÚKL).

University Hospital Hradec Králové is the largest medical facility and service provider in the region of Eastern Bohemia, which is important for contract research. Every year the hospital carries out hundreds of drug clinical trials and medical-device tests. Helena provides communication support between researchers, the institution’s management and corporations in the management and conduct of clinical trials for the biopharmaceutical industry — ensuring a steady flow of clinical trials (mostly phase II–IV) from various therapeutic fields to different clinical departments. She also participated in the creation and development of the Clinical Trial Department of UH HK.
